Within the initiatives launched by the University of Zagazig, headed by Dr./ Ashraf Al-Shehhi, University President to support the project of the new Suez Canal, the Institute of Asian Studies and Research at the University regulates an international seminar entitled "The strategic dimension of the axis of the new Suez Canal, " data, ambitions and challenges " for a purposeful introductory discussion for this great project with the participation of a number of participants from Egypt and abroad, including representatives from the Nasser Academy of military Sciences and Foreign Affairs and experts from Arab and Egyptian research centers , and editors of some private and national Egyptian newspapers and news agencies and Arab and Egyptian satellite channels and a number of public figures on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the seminars Hall at the Faculty and Leadership Development Center at the university . The events of the seminar will begin at ten o'clock in the morning.
Dr./ Ashraf Al-Shehhi, University President said that this seminar is a confirmation on the continued role of the university in holding workshops, seminars and scientific conferences , which focuses on the importance of giant national projects, analyze and submit these projects to all sectors of the state and the Egyptian, Arab and global public opinion .
About the seminar program and Dr./ Abd El-Hakim El-Tahawy, Dean of the Institute pointed that it will include three sessions to discuss several issues, including the emergence and importance of the Suez Canal, the strategic dimension of the the Suez Canal project and the Suez Canal from a navigation axis to a logistic axis , and the Arab Egyptian orientation and its impact in promoting the acquired strategy of the project, and the axis of the Suez Canal as an input for development in Sinai, and the challenges and risks, and anti-Israeli projects.
