Announces fund for science and technology, opening the door to apply for a grant (Infrastructure Capacity Building Grants)
The objectives of the grant
The project must be in order to achieve the following objectives:
- Support for the acquisition of major equipment for the project with the state , thereby improving access to and increasing the use of modern equipment research by scientists.
- Support for the acquisition of equipment that contribute to the benefit of existing investments , while avoiding duplication of services already provisioned from previous investments .
- Strengthening partnerships objective and meaningful between academia and the private sector . Such partnerships have the potential to capacity building and the development of industry sectors with the help of academia in research and development efforts leading .
- Enable academic departments and units , disciplines and comprehensive , and cooperation to create research environments well-equipped .
- The acquisition of cutting optional attributes related to acquired that can enhance the capacity of existing facilities .
- Replace the parts used correctly, but quickly consume equipment resulting from repeated use
Entities eligible for the project :
The aim of the CBG to cover the following:
- The establishment and development of laboratory research on all topics in the following entities :
1 . Egyptian universities and research centers newly created ,
2 . Egyptian universities and regional research centers , where they will be given preference for the establishment of more than one point , and did not benefit from a grant by the similar , on the other hand .
- Supporting the development of any reference laboratories in the following specific areas :
1 . Reference Labs CID (as drugs and toxins legitimate )
2 . Microelectromechanical systems ( MEMS )
3 . Physical Therapy and Physical Medicine
4 . Super Network and Cloud Computing
- Must be the project coordinator represents the institution a Ph.D. degree .
- Should not exceed the project budget " five million pounds.
- May not exceed a period of 2 years of project implementation .
- Must be maintained by the original equipment manufacturer or one of its agents .
- You must include a letter of support from the Foundation for research grants , pointing out that this activity is part of the strategic plan of the institution in the proposal.

The evaluation process :
The evaluation process will be carried out by independent experts and make sure that the STDF process is transparent , fair and supported by research . Also, after the submission of a full proposal , STDF Stqok field visits to assess the readiness of the facility for research proposed in different stages.
